As a PHP developer one thing I never get is that non technical people are often making technical decisions and if something goes wrong, it’s your fault, not theirs.
I am sure this is a common problem for developers that can be met at least once in their path, not that easy to solve, but today there is a chance.
What if a developer could work in a new independent way, dedicating his time to create high-quality components and sell them in a global market, earning numerous times by a single job ( maybe while he’s sleeping! ), with the ability to focus on development of new components, still having the time to master new knowledge and develop better and better rather than trying to understand what his client really wants?
No matter in what language you develop, the solution is Binpress.
Binpress is a global marketplace for buying and selling reusable code, a great opportunity for both companies and developers because the former will save hours of development and costs, the latter have the possibility to create a passive revenue stream avoiding the hassle of marketing, legal issues & billing as mentioned in Binpress website.
My Binpress experience
I committed my first component just few weeks ago, the Thumbnail Action Helper for Zend Framework.
It was published few days later after a technical review to ensure that the code follows the coding standards and obviously, that it works :).
You well need to provide a description for your component, a clear usage example and pricing options.
This last step was personally the more difficult for me, but the Binpress staff is very kind and will help you for any problem you will encounter and also they published an helpful guide to the science of software pricing.
I think that Binpress is a great service and I will definitely commit more components in the next weeks.
If you are a developer or a company which develops software just give it a try, please visit http://www.binpress.com
